SCHOOL BOARD ELECTIONS
The Albany R-III School District encourages qualified persons interested in running for a
position on the School Board to file to be a candidate in the April 8, 2025 election. There are
two positions available with three year terms. Interested persons may file at the Superintendent’s office located at 101 W. Jefferson Street, Albany, Missouri 64402. For more information contact Mr. Dustin Freeman, Superintendent at (660) 726-3911.
Filing will begin on December 10, 2024 at 8:00 a.m. and will continue during the district’s
regular business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Except for the first and last day of filing, filing will not occur on days that the school district’s central offices are closed due to inclement weather or other health related reasons. Filing will also not occur on the following holidays and breaks when the school district’s central offices are closed: December 23, 2024 – December 30, 2024. Our office will open at 4:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024 and board filing will end at 5:00 p.m. on this day.

Winter sports officially get underway tonight as both, Warrior Basketball and Girl's Wrestling, take center stage. First, Keeleigh Fish will be representing the Warriors at the Lathrop Turkey Break Girls Wrestling Tournament then, this evening, the Warrior basketballers will officially tip off their '24-'25 campaigns against the Northeast Nodaway Blue Jays. Go, Warriors!

Student of the Month
Chayse Miller is a 3rd grade student in Sierra Anthony's class. Chayse is loyal to her school by always saying the mission statement with pride and showing that she’s proud to be a warrior. She is also is the first student to stand up in the morning and saying the pledge of allegiance. It doesn’t matter if you’re across the room, you can hear it say it and can hear the pride in her voice.
Daniel Yocum is a 1st grade student in Mrs. Weller's class. Daniel is a perfect candidate for the citizenship award! He always has a positive attitude, is very involved and engaged in activities we do during the school day, participates in dress up days, and is an active community member outside of the school as well. Daniel is friends with everybody and a very hard worker!
