THANK YOU to the Community of Albany for making the NHS sponsored Blood Drive on Jan. 20th a success!
"WHAT A GREAT DRIVE!!!!! This is the largest drive that the school has sponsored!!!!", exclaimed Betty Tinker, Donor Recruitment Account Manager for the Community Blood Center. "Your goal was 50. We registered 54 donors. 12 of these donors were first time donors. We collected 46 units of blood products. 3 Qns = the donor started the process but did not complete the donation. ( you receive credit for this. Your total collections = 48 units.. This is a great help to the blood supply," Ms. Tinker said.
The NHS students would like to thank all the donors, the Rotarians, the City of Albany and the Community Center Staff and everyone in our community that let us hang up posters and put out flyers in their businesses. Thank you to family and friends who supported the blood drive with donations.
"We have a great group of NHS students, " said Dawn Paul, AHS Teacher and NHS Sponsor, "Our students worked hard to promote the drive and I couldn't be happier with the results. It was definitely a team event. We had students taking flyers all over town, making phone calls, and working the refreshment table. We are blessed to live in such a supportive community."
